D&AD- little white lies, quick turn around brief,

 ORIGINAL, ILLUSTRATION, ONE FILM OUT OF FIVE. I want to produce something original, still within that illustrative guideline but not specifically hand drawn with a pen. I am going to pick 'The Tree of Life'

I want mine to be original, like the brief states, so I will produce a portrait, but not your typical portrait.

I've  decided to try out at doing one of the covers really quickly. I did this in about 3 hours, I don't think I want to take it any further:

Development:

I traced a still from the film 'The Tree of Life', and worked with experimenting with different colour combinations. I tried to use an existing logo but it was too blurred so I produced one on Illustrator.

I think this is the one I am going to go with for now:

Looking at Little White Lies magazines, they seem to include more variety of colours, I added two more colours to the palette, a separation of the boy and his Father. I wanted to keep the scratchy effect as well, so there is a slight stain layer added and some patches taken out of the colour.

20cm X 24.5cm & 400dpi, with logo template in the right position
