Constructing...H

Working as a group, Me, Hazel Gage, Will Duffy and Niall Hargrave produced a piece of design similar to the channel 4 advert. Basically, we chose to communicate the letter 'H' through the use of using different plains, heights, where if you looked through a view finder the letter was legible. However from any other angle, it would just look like a series of boxes with black strips on them.

I really enjoyed this task, we all worked well as a group, constructing this letter whilst having to work out exactly where each box and strip had to go. I think it photographs better from an angle, because even though it is not an obvious 'H', you can still see how 'H' is being communicated. It also shows the different plains and heights and overall complexity of the piece of work. From an angle, it's almost as if it is the letter 'H' explored backstage.

This is a video of the final thing:

This is what we were relating our work to

NickLovegrove's typeface - final idea

Final poster.

Formative Feedback says:
Strengths- Conducting points, old typeface with cartoon characters
Weaknesses- Some letterforms really work, others look like an after thought
Actions- Blend the image and letterform more, manipulate the original letterform further.
