MY IDEA FOR FILM POSTERS.
I want to keep the scars consistent throughout each poster, I will incorporate the scars into the imagery. The amount of scars will depend on what number film it is.
For inspiration for my posters, I have looked at a variety of film posters, both alternative and original. I was also looking at simple posters, I wanted to keep mine colour limited (black, white and one colour?), and I also wanted mine to be clever, small representations relating to the specific films.
There are a variety of designers/artists posters I have looked at, all from different blogs that were nameless. However, some inspirational posters were from Pedro Vidotto, Hail Mika, Olly Moss and Saul Bass.
Rough ideas of what I could do for 'Deathly Hallows pt 2'.
Half-blood prince, and Deathly Hallows pt 2.
I really like the hands raised idea, I think the layout is interesting and I was instantly drawn to this idea and would like to take it further.
Deathly Hallows - I thought, as this film comes in two parts, they could work together, as well as separately. However, I asked for feedback on the idea of having the imagery of 'Dobby' for the first part of the poster, and everyone said, visually it was attractive and communicated Harry Potter well. I felt I should think about the second part, as a whole film individually.
PHILOSOPHER'S STONE.
My original thought about this poster, was to use the stone as the main imagery. The scar could be one of the cracks in the stone. HOWEVER.
After trying out drawings on illustrator, they just looked too simple and I felt, the type of posters I wanted to produce, I could be more creative with it.
I thought about main elements of the film, a large part I think would be interesting to play with, is the idea that Voldemort was on the back of Professor Quirrel's head. I wanted to play around with the purple turban shapes and the face image of Voldemort.
CHAMBER of secrets & Prisoner of Azkaban.
CHAMBER - SNAKE IMAGERY, fork tongue splitting into the two lightning bolts. I thought about layout of the poster, how could the snake be on the page?
PRISONER - main elements, DEATH EATERS, WEREWOLVES. Both are strong, werewolves could be fun to play with? Could the teeth be the 3 lightning bolts?
GOBLET of FIRE & ORDER of the PHEONIX
MAD EYE MOODY, competition elements. Unique imagery to play around with, possibility of using fins? layout is creative.
Pheonix.
Hardest poster yet, strong elements relate to introduction of Professor Umbridge (new headmistress, dresses in pink, drinks tea out of posh tea cups), memory balls and chamber smashing into thousands of glass.
COMBINATION?
smashed umbridge?
