So after all of that I went back to my fish idea I had started originally... this book brief has just been stringed together with so many bad decisions I have made, I don't know why I made it all so stressful, but anyway. I wanted to use a different process, last year I laser cut my books, and I feel it gives them more depth, makes them a bit more interesting. At first, I distanced away from cutting out fish shapes because I felt that buyers would want to look at how the fish looks, e.g it's colours and patterns. I got some feedback on the idea, and people were saying that the awkwardness of the shapes, and the fact that you weren't sure on what it was, could relate to the weirdness of fish anyway. Also the concertina could be used for a variety of things, sit as a backdrop of a desk, or hang from from something.
Before laser cut, the image began as black outlines, that was then detected and positioned in the right place
